Degree planning

All Healthcare Leadership students are strongly encouraged to use the online Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) to check on progress toward your degree. DARS is a useful tool, but it should not replace one-on-one degree planning with an advisor.

University requirements

To earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Healthcare Leadership, a student must meet the University's minimum general education and basic skills for graduation requirements, as well as those of the Healthcare Leadership Program.  This section outlines the general education and basic skill requirements:

  • Earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 for all work done in residence at the university (the graduation grade point average is computed when the student has completed all work for the degree and includes only credits earned while in residence at the university)
  • Complete a minimum of 180 academic credits
  • Complete the following courses:
    • Intermediate Algebra - three years of high school math through intermediate (second year) algebra or college-level Math 99 equivalent or higher level math course
    • Two years of the same foreign language in high school or completion of college-level 102
    • Minimum of 15 credits of writing to include 5 credits of English composition and 10 credits of writing-intensive courses
    • Minimum of 5 credits of Quantitative/Symbolic Reasoning course work
    • Minimum of 15 credits in each area of study: Natural World, Individuals and Society, and Visual, Literary and Performing Arts
