Schedule

2023-24 Cohort Start Date: mid-August 2023

  • Live, virtual classes meet weekday mornings, every two weeks.
  • 4 in-person workshop days at UW Tacoma (Late August, January, April/May, late June)
  • Additional online and project-based work required.

Location

This program meets ONLINE, with select sessions at UW Tacoma

Our blended program is built to maximize both convience and the cohort connection

In-person workshops

  • Some topics are best taught and practiced face-to-face, so several 7-hour in-person workshops at UW Tacoma are scheduled strategically throughout the program
  • Kick-off and close the program in person with your cohort

Live, virtual class sessions

  • Delivered over Zoom every two weeks
  • Thursday and Friday mornings (8:30a - 12:00p)
  • Mix of lecture, small group work, discussions, and practice

Asynchronous coursework

  • Between in-person and online class sessions, you'll have a variety of readings, videos, online discussions, and other activities.
  • The time this work takes varies depending on the person, their learning style, familiarity with the topic, and familiarity with technology

The full 2022 - 2023 schedule will be published in approximately March 2022. Below is a tentative outline.

  • Self-paced materials available on Canvas starting August 1, 2022
     

August 15 - October 23, 2022:   Module 1 (Leading Self)

  • In-Person: 1.5 days at UW Tacoma (August 25 & 26)
  • Live, Virtual Classes: 7, 3.5-hour sessions
  • Estimated Asynchronous Hours: 7
     

October 24 - December 31, 2022:   Module 2 (Seeing Systems)

  • In-Person: none
  • Live, Virtual Classes: 6, 3.5-hour sessions
  • Estimated Asynchronous Hours: 20
  • Personal Leadership Project due December 31, 2022
     

January 1 - March 5, 2023:   Module 3 (Leading Individuals and Groups)

  • In-Person: 1 day at UW Tacoma (early January)
  • Live, Virtual Classes: 8, 3.5-hour sessions
  • Estimated Asynchronous Hours: 16
     

March 6 - May 14, 2023: Module 4 (Leading Organizations):

  • In-Person Workshop: 1 day at UW Tacoma (April)
  • Live, Virtual Classes: 8, 3.5-hour sessions
  • Estimated Asynchronous Hours: 21
     

May 15 - July 20, 2023:  Module 5 (Leading in a Political and Societal System)

  • Live, Virtual Classes: 8, 3.5-hour sessions
  • Estimated Asynchronous Hours: 10
  • In-Person Capstone Project Presentations: Mid-July 2023
