UW Immunization Requirements
Students attending classes at the University of Washington Tacoma are required to provide proof of vaccination against Measles, Mumps, and Meningitis Meningococcal ACWY, with certain exemptions allowed. We recommend that documentation of immunity should be submitted no later than the first day of the quarter. Incomplete records may cause delays in your future quarter registration process.
Immunization requirements that most students must meet:
Immunization Requirement | Impacts to Registration if Not Met |
---|---|
Measles, Mumps, Meningitis (MMM) | If you do not submit the required immunization documentation before Registration Period 1 begins for your second quarter, a hold will be placed on your registration until your documentation is received. |
Note: Students in the Social Work program should follow the processes and deadlines of the Health Sciences Immunization Program (HSIP), instead of completing the UW Immunization Requirement verification.
Visit the Immunization Requirement's website for details and instructions on fulfilling the immunization requirement. Their website contains links to an online portal for submitting the required documentation. Please note that the Office of the Registrar cannot accept your immunization documents or assist with any of the registration holds/blocks that are tied to the immunization requirements.
Did you receive vaccines in Washington?
The Washington State Immunization Information System (WAIIS) may contain your immunization records. Update your Consent for Immunization Record Query so UW can easily assist you in meeting this requirement.
Looking for vaccination sites?
There several locations around Tacoma, including clinics and pharmacies, that offer free and low-cost options for the MMR and Meningitis ACWY vaccines in the Tacoma that students without health insurance can access if needed. Contact Student Health Services for further assistance.
