Admissions Review Timeline
The CSS admissions committee will review applications at different points during the admissions cycle. Students may apply with prerequisites in progress through spring quarter, but prerequisites must be completed before a student will be considered for admission.
In April, the admissions committee will review applications from students who have completed all the prerequisites and submitted an application by March 27. We typically admit a small number of competitive applicants during the early admissions review. Offers of admission for early admits will be sent in late April.
The majority of new students will be admitted after the application closes on June 12. The committee will begin the admissions review process once spring grades are posted. Applicants finishing prerequisites in spring should submit updated unofficial transcripts to SET as soon as possible. We anticipate that admissions decisions will be made by the end of July.
Students will be notified of admissions decisions by email.
Please note that applicants who are taking prerequisites during summer quarter generally are not eligible for autumn admission due to space constraints. If the program fills, applicants with summer courses in progress will automatically be denied and encouraged to apply again for winter. In the rare case that space is still available, the committee will make a final review of remaining applications in late August.
If you are not a current student at UW Tacoma, you must first apply for admission to the university. See the UW Tacoma Admissions page for information on the application process and deadlines. Once you are admitted to UWT and have a student number, you may submit your application to CSS. If you are not admitted to UWT, you cannot be admitted to the CSS major.
You are required to upload a copy of your unofficial college transcript(s) as part of your CSS application. If you still have prerequisite courses to complete, you will list those in the application. Your application will not be reviewed until all prerequisite grades are received. It is your responsibility to submit an updated unofficial transcript to SET as soon as grades are posted.
Updated transcripts should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or dropped off at the SET reception desk in CP 133. Electronic copies are preferred.
