Course Overload Policy

Main page content

Occasionally the School of Engineering & Technology will overload undergrad courses beyond their posted limited on the time schedule.  In such cases, it is always based on the following criteria:

  • Instructor approval (must be in writing, via email)
  • SET advisor approval
  • Physical space in the classroom
  • Student meets the course qualifications

All requests must be sent in writing to both SET advisors and include the email approval from the instructor.  Overloads are given on a case by case basis and are first come, first served. For assistance, please email the SET advisors: Beth Jeffrey ( and David Ross (

Please note that priority for overloads is for SET majors; non-majors will be considered on a space available basis after declared SET majors have been registered.
