The School of IAS is divided into five divisions and a graduate program.


Culture Arts and Science CACCulture, Arts, and Communication (CAC)
The division of CAC contains the following majors:

  • Arts, Media, and Culture
  • Communication
  • Spanish Language and Culture
  • Writing Studies


Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs (PPPA)Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs (PPPA)
The division of PPPA contains the following majors: 
  • Law and Policy
  • Politics, Philosophy and Economics




Science and Math (SAM)Sciences and Mathematics (SAM)
The division of SAM contains the following majors: 
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Environmental Science
  • Mathematics


Social, Behavioral, and Human Sciences (SBHS)

The division of SBHS contains the following majors and concentrations: 
  • Psychology
  • Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences
  • Individually-designed concentration

Social and Historical Studies (SHS)

The division of SHS contains the following majors and concentrations: 
  • Ethnic, Gender and Labor Studies
  • History
  • Global Studies concentration
