Criminal Justice Admission Requirements

Main page content

► The Criminal Justice degree offers a multidisciplinary understanding of crime and justice within the framework of broader social processes within our society.

The program examines all major aspects of the justice system from an ecological systems approach rather than a specialization in one narrow content area. The curriculum provides a theoretical understanding of the discipline, combined with an understanding of the scientific method as it applies to criminal justice.

Prior to application, students must complete all admission requirements for UW Tacoma and the Criminal Justice major (or students must have a plan in place to complete required courses prior to beginning classes). Please refer to the prerequisite grid. Transfer applicants are encouraged to meet with a transfer admissions advisor prior to applying. To schedule an appointment, please call the Office of Admissions at 253-692-4742.
