Faculty/Staff Student Conduct Information

All students who are enrolled in any of the three University of Washington campuses (Tacoma, Seattle or Bothell) are held accountable to the Student Conduct Code. The code outlines both the expectations for behavior and the procedures for handling violations of the conduct code. Faculty and Staff members should understand the Student Conduct Code and their responsibility to uphold the rules and regulations.

Classroom Behavior

The Student Conduct Code outlines the jurisdiction given to faculty in the classroom. WAC 478-120-020, section (3)(b): "An instructor has the authority to exclude a student from any class session in which the student is disorderly or disruptive."

Student Conduct Processes

Students may be documented for two main types of violations: Academic and Behavior. Faculty's role in these processes, as well as information about how to navigate the conduct system, is available below. Student Conduct Incident Report Form

If you believe a student violated the Student Conduct Code, please complete the below form to document the situation and formally report the incident. Send all reports and supporting documentation to Surtida Shelton, Associate Director of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, in MAT 103 or campus mailbox 358407.
