Advisory Board

The Advisory Board is composed of Faculty, Staff, Students and First Gen Alumni. Members of the board represent UW Tacoma Schools, Units and FGF Alumni that are committed to the development of first generation students in our campus. 

What we do: 

  • Serve as an advisory board to the program staff by providing recommendations related to program development and implementation. 

  • Serve as liaisons with their respective Schools and Units to create awareness about factors that may impact first generation students’ academic success. 

  • Serve as advocates within UW Tacoma and UW system for first generation students' campus life experiences. 

  • Serve as a resources for staff and faculty across campus regarding issues related to first generation students (ex. sponsor webinars, presentations on best practices that impact the academic success of first gen students on our campus, lunch and learns).
