After a successful first year, the Dawg Bones Program is returning with more exciting prizes and ways to get involved at UW Tacoma! After collecting data about the satisfaction with the program, Dawg Bones has adapted to some of the fantastic suggestions shared by those participating in the program, as well as those looking for more reasons to participate.
As always, we know that students will be very busy with their academic pursuits and understand that when students decide to attend events, programs, organization meetings and more, it’s a lot to build into your other priorities in life!
What are Dawg Bones?
UW Tacoma, especially the Center for Student Involvement, want to see our Huskies involved, because we know how many benefits it can provide you during your time at the University and beyond. Dawg Bones is an incentive program that provides you with an extra reason to attend as many programs, meetings, and involvement opportunities as possible. With every Dawg Bone you earn, you can win exciting and exclusive prizes!
What's New about Dawg Bones this year?
Huskies will still receive a tangible prize, or entries into winning a prize, by building time into their schedule for involvement. However, students will have more of a choice about which items they would like to ear with their Dawg Bones! Students will now collect their Dawg Bones in their DawgDen profile and be able to spend them when the Dawg Bones Shop opens, twice a quarter!

Dawg Bones Shop
This year, in order to provide students with more choices, the Dawg Bones Program will open the Dawg Bones Shop twice every quarter, so that students can use the Dawg Bones they've earned to purchase whatever items they'd like. Every Dawg Bone that students collect will earn them prizes that they get to select!
When can I spend my Dawg Bones?
Dawg Bones can only be spent during the periods when the Dawg Bones Shop is open. The Dawg Bones Shop will open twice each quarter, for 2 two-week periods. The Dawg Bones Shop will be open during weeks 4 & 5 and weeks 9 & 10.
How can I purchase prizes?
- Online - Use the Dawg Bones Prize Order Form on DawgDen
- As long as the store is open, students can submit orders online at any time. They will be reviewed by CSI staff members for verification, prizes will be gathered, and students will be emailed when their package of prizes is available for pick-up in the CSI
- At the Center for Student Involvement- The CSI Staff members can help students complete the Dawg Bones Prize Order Form on DawgDen at the front desk
- Students can check in at the CSI in the University Y Student Center during open hours to make Dawg Bones Prize orders (and receive their items right away!)
- At a Dawg Bones Shop Pop-Up- During the operational hours of the Dawg Bones Shop, you may walk by a pop-up shop somewhere on the UW Tacoma campus. You'll be able to check your Dawg Bones Total, submit an order form, and receive your prizes!
What kind of Prizes will be available?
Most prizes earned from Dawg Bones can only be acquired by exchanging Dawg Bones at the Dawg Bones Shop. some items are more exclusive than others and due to quantity, you may only be able to acquire giveaway entries for certain items. Most of the items, you will just exchange the necessary amount of Dawg Bones for the items in question. For anything designated as a "Giveaway," students will exchange Dawg Bones for entries to see if they are able to win the item in the Giveaway Announcements that will take place.

Buttons = 1,000 Dawg Bones
Hand Sanitizer = 2,000 Dawg Bones
Notebook with Pen = 3,000 Dawg Bones
Travel Mugs = 4,000 Dawg Bones
Aluminum Water Bottle= 6,500 Dawg Bones
Long-Sleeve Shirts = 8,000 Dawg Bones
Beanie = 300 Dawg Bones per entry

What happens to my Dawg Bones if I don't spend them?
Students will keep their Dawg Bones for the full academic year. If you are trying to save up for something really exclusive, you can save Dawg Bones between the quarters. However, some quantities are limited in the Dawg Bones Shop and once an item is sold out, it's gone! Be strategic about how long you hold onto your Dawg Bones.
Dawg Bones will reset at the end of Spring Quarter 2022
