"HCL provided a great understanding of how healthcare systems work, business of healthcare, disparities in societies and population. In addition, it challenged us in analytical and critical thinking which is a very sought after skill in the workforce." -SNHCL Alum
Applying for admission to the HCL program is a two-step process if you are not a current UW Tacoma student. An online application and official transcripts must be submitted to the University; other required supplemental materials go directly to the UW Tacoma School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership.
Make sure you have everything you need by checking the application checklist.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, after all application materials and transcripts have been received. Those meeting the deadlines listed are assured of a review. Applications completed after that date will be considered as space allows. If the number of applications exceeds the available space, admissions will be competitive.
How to Apply
Potential applicants are encouraged to meet with an UW Tacoma admissions advisor prior to applying. During the admissions process, admission advisors help match interests to the appropriate program of study, assist in successfully navigating the application process, and direct potential students to useful campus resources such as financial aid. They can also review transcripts and determine whether additional coursework is necessary for admission.
Healthcare Leadership admits students in autumn quarter only. The program can be completed in two years as a full-time student or on a part-time plan in no less than three years (5-10 credits per quarter).
