Majors
A major is the academic discipline, such as business or environmental science, to which an undergraduate student formally commits. Admission and graduation requirements for majors are listed in the general catalog.
Declare a Major
- The process for declaring a major varies by major and/or School
- Declare a major before earning 105 credits to avoid a registration hold.
- Some majors offer formal options. A declared option is notated on a student's transcript
Change a Major
- Majors can be changed using the same process as declaring a major.
- Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor before changing a major.
Double Major or Double Degree
Students may complete the requirements of two majors as either a double major or a double degree.

Minors
A minor is an optional program of study (usually 25 to 35 credits) built around a particular subject or discipline. Students are eligible to complete as many as three minors while earning their first undergraduate degree.
A student must be working on their first bachelor's degree and have already declared a major before they can add a minor.
Meet with your academic advisor to complete the Declare, Change or Drop a Major/Minor Form to add a minor.
