Taking care of your Husky Card
It is important to take proper care of your Husky Card. Don't bend or punch a hole anywhere on your card. The RFID chip and antenna can be damaged, requiring a replacement. If you should need a replacement card, a non-refundable $25 fee will be added to your student account. Employees must pay the $25 replacement fee using the Cashier's Office online tool TouchBase prior to receiving the replacement card.
What to do if you lose your Husky Card
If your UW Tacoma Husky Card is lost or stolen and you have money in your Husky Card Account, go to the Online Card Office or call the Husky Card Account & ID Center (Husky Card Office) at 206-543-7222 during normal business hours, to suspend activity until your UW Tacoma Husky Card is found or replaced.
Your Husky Card is not transferable
Your Husky Card is the property of UW and is not transferable. Allowing others to use your Husky Card is a serious misuse of the card and, as such, subjects you to disciplinary action as described in the University of Washington Student Conduct Code.
Preferred Name Option
Students and employees now have the option of printing their UW-registered preferred names on Husky Cards. Your preferred name is for use within the University community. If you choose to have a preferred name on your Husky Card it cannot be used as proof of legal identity and may impact its use as a form of ID. It is advisable to carry a government-issued form of ID such as a driver's license or passport with you.
The term "preferred name" refers to a name that an individual wishes to use that differs from their legal name on legal documents and/or differs from the name that is listed on a student or employee's original UW record that has not been changed legally.
