Our Mission
Student Affairs champions holistic learning and success for UW Tacoma students. We remove barriers for students, engage them as partners to create an inclusive campus community and equip them for lives and careers that have meaning and impact.
With more than a dozen departments and programs ranging from first-generation initiatives to career services, on-campus housing to recreation, and student financial aid to the veterans and military resource center, the student affairs division focuses on student well-being and success. We care deeply about our students and endeavor to co-create a campus community where students can take part in a rewarding college experience and establish meaningful connections with each other along with staff, faculty, and alumni.
The University of Washington Tacoma has so much to offer. We remain steadfast in our commitment to expand access to a university education, promote civic engagement, and facilitate career readiness. I wish we could tell you this in person, and until then, I invite you to engage with the innovative array of virtual experiences and opportunities that we have to offer.
Please be well, and thank you for protecting the air we share on campus and in our homes and communities.
Be Purple. Be Gold. Be Bold. Go Dawgs!
Mentha Hynes-Wilson
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
