Pack Advisors Help Integrate New Students into Campus Life
Pack advisers continue to provide UW Tacoma students with resources and a sense of community, progressing in their efforts to convert in-person connections to virtual ones.
The UW Tacoma pack advisors are continuously working to help students succeed and are always thinking of new innovative approaches to help support these efforts. Exemplary student mentors, the eight advisors serve as key examples of moving students forward, a mission that is the foundation of the Student Affairs division.
Educating incoming students about their services and various programs, the Pack Advisors attend advising and registration sessions as well as orientations to meet and welcome the new Freshmen, running start, and transfer students. There to help from the beginning, advisors get new undergraduates connected and informed about the numerous resources and student programming UWT has to offer.
On account of the current state of the world however, and with students no longer on campus this past year, advisors have had to restructure their services and adjust accordingly to continue providing these services for new students. Fortunately, with the help of technology, Pack Advisors have been able to implement alternative methods of communication. From emails, calls, and virtual interactions, the advisors have worked hard to ensure that UW Tacoma has maintained a sense of community, connectedness, and student involvement.
