UW Tacoma faculty, staff and students may request STF funding per the STFC Policies and Procedures (By-Laws). STF is designed to be used to improve existing technology and acquiring new technology to be used by the general student body of UW Tacoma. Anyone requesting funds should read the STFC Policies and Procedures thoroughly to ensure their request is considered for funding and contact the STFC Committee with questions.
You must receive approval from the department head of the unit hosting the technology resource prior to submitting your proposal, as indicated on the Allocation Request Form.
If you are requesting money for computers or peripherals, you must work with the Associate Director of IT, Forrest Tyree, to develop your proposal.
Annual Budgeting Process
The Annual Allocation process begins in winter quarter and is the primary process for following fiscal year (July 1st - June 30th). At the end of the Annual Allocation process, the Student Technology Fee Committee (STFC) recommends to ASUWT for approval which resources and services should receive STF support during the next fiscal year.
2021-2022 Annual Allocation request period will open in December of 2020.
Special Allocation Process
The Special Allocation process takes place during autumn quarter and is usually complete before the start of the Annual Allocation process in winter quarter. This is an opportunity for existing STF programs and services to ask for additional funding to pay for emergency expenditures they could not have anticipated when submitting their annual allocation request.
2020-2021 Special Allocation request period will be open during the 2020 autumn quarter.
