About PAVE

PAVE is a peer support program that connects incoming student veterans with student veterans already on campus in order to help them navigate college life, identify challenges they face, refer them to appropriate resources on or off campus, and provide ongoing support. Through peer support from other student veterans on campus, PAVE builds on the camaraderie veterans experience in the military to create a sense of community and connectedness that contributes to academic and personal success.

The program was developed at the University of Michigan through a grant from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation. It was initially launched at 12 schools and is now on 37 campuses across the United States. University of Washington Tacoma is part of that group.

PAVE is a collaboration between the University of Michigan, Student Veterans of America, and partner PAVE campuses.

If you are interested in becoming involved in UWT's PAVE program, contact PAVE Team Leader Jeffrey Bantay at or call 253-692-5723.
