Husky Orientation Week

Husky Orientation Week (H.O.W.) is your academic and social orientation to the UW Tacoma and helps you transition to life as a new Husky. This is your chance to meet your new classmates, meet Peer Advisors, learn about UW Tacoma’s academic, social, and campus expectations, and to have fun!

As a newly admitted student, you will be required to attend Husky Orientation Week before you receive your Husky ID Card.

Online Orientation

The overall goal of the Online Orientation is to provide you with a seamless transition to the University of Washington Tacoma.

  • Online Orientation is offered to transfer students unable to attend an on-campus orientation session. We strongly recommend participation in an on-campus orientation program whenever possible.
  • As a transfer student Orientation is not required to register for classes
  • The online orientation will open during Husky Orientation Week, September 19-23. Once the online orientation is completed, students are able to pick up their Husky ID card in two ways:
  1. From 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on the 1st floor of the Matress Factory (MAT) building during Husky Orientation Week.
  2. Ater Husky Orientation Week from the Office of the Registrar, Mattress Factory (MAT) 253, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
