Global Honors
The Global Honors Program is the University of Washington Tacoma's interdisciplinary upper-division honors program, adding distinction to the bachelor's degree. It offers a global curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and an active community of high-achieving, motivated students from majors across campus.
The curriculum is designed to help highly motivated students enhance their education of global issues. Through rigorous core seminars, immersive study abroad opportunities, and extra-curricular events, honors scholars embark on an enriching pathway to community leadership and global citizenship. We aim to prepare students to meet the challenges of a globalizing world.
Apply to the Global Honors Program online.
We are accepting applications throughout Spring quarter for current UWT sophomores and transfer students interested in joining in Autumn 2013. UWT freshmen are advised to contact the Global Honors office directly at ghonors@uw.edu. We encourage candidates to complete submission as soon as possible since places are limited for this highly competitive enrichment program.
Why Global Honors?
"Global Scholar" Award for GH Students
The Global Scholar award of up to $1500 is available to students admitted into the Global Honors Program. The merit-based award is given in recognition of the academic excellence of Global Honors students and their committment to experiential learning, be it through study abroad, community internships or discussion-based seminars. The financial support is intended to encourage more UWT students to consider the challenges of the Program and avail of its many benefits. Students interested in eligibility should contact the Global Honors Program Office in CP 311C or via ghonors@uw.edu.
