Husky Post Prison Pathways (HP3) is a university-based program designed by and with formerly incarcerated leaders to make higher education more accessible for people impacted by incarceration and the criminal legal system. Launched during the 2024–2025 academic year with dedicated staff and a physical space on the UW Tacoma campus, HP3 provides holistic support across the journey from prison to college to career.

While prison is in our name and remains a central focus of our work, HP3 serves anyone directly impacted by the criminal legal system. We connect with people while they are incarcerated, support students as they transition into the university and progress through their degree programs, and help prepare them for meaningful careers, graduate education, and other opportunities beyond graduation.

Our work is rooted in community engagement, peer connection and mentorship, and the belief that higher education can expand what people see as possible for themselves and their communities. HP3 creates pathways to opportunity, leadership, belonging, and long-term success while working to change the narratives surrounding incarceration and higher education.
