Meet Your FCDA Representatives

The Faculty Council on Digital Accessibility (FCDA) consists of 12 dedicated faculty members representing every school and major division on the Tacoma campus. These representatives serve as your primary point of contact for peer-to-peer coaching, discipline-specific troubleshooting, and navigating the new federal compliance landscape until the end of fall quarter 2026.

To help make this work manageable, your FCDA representative can assist with:

Digital Accessibility Coaching: Sessions/workshops to move your course toward "accessible by default."
Tool Mastery: Help with learning Ally, UDOIT, and TidyUP to clean up and understand accessibility scores in your Canvas courses.
Discipline-Specific Resources: Access to a growing repository of materials curated specifically for your school (e.g., SET-specific math notation or Milgard-specific data accessibility).
Navigating/Dcoumeneting Possible Exceptions: Collaborative problem-solving for "edge case" content that is difficult to remediate.

When should I contact my representative?

You should reach out if you:

Feel stuck on navigating all of the resources and suggested tasks.
Need a sounding board to work through how to prioritize what you should focus on first.
Are curious about PDF remediation tools or non-remediable PDFs or legacy materials.
Want to schedule a quick consult to discuss how others are tackling this work and create a plan for moving forward.

FCDA members are your peers, not auditors. Their role is to provide a "safe harbor" for faculty to build skills and ask questions as we work together toward a more accessible campus.
