Overview:
The Associated Students of University of Washington Tacoma has two governing documents: Bylaws and Constitution. In order to make any changes to the ASUWT Constitution, the proposed changes need to pass the ASUWT Senate, Executive Board, and then approved on by the UW Tacoma student body. The 2023-2024 ASUWT Senate and Executive Board have successfully voted on many constitutional amendments surrounding Mandatory Internal Accountability Practices, Formalization of ASUWT Taskforces, Restructuring of the Senate & Executive Board, Closing of Loopholes, and more!
In order to successfully pass these constitution changes, all amendments must receive a majority vote in a student government election with 15% of the student body participating.
