
All students are encouraged to consider the benefits of the full Minor in Global Engagement (25-28 credits), but Global Honors students will enroll in 18 credits minimum from the core Global Honors curriculum and maintain a 3.3 GPA across all Global Honors courses as well as a 3.3 cumulative GPA from UW Tacoma to earn Global Honors Distinction.
Students who graduate with Global Honors Distinction receive the Global Honors transcription on their University of Washington diplomas and transcripts. The Global Honors Distinction pathway offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates theory with practice. It connects students to the places and communities they are studying through community-engaged seminars.
Students who complete the Minor in Global Engagement with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher are automatically considered for Global Honors Distinction.

- A 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average (either from UW Tacoma or as an incoming transfer)
- Less than 135 credits at the time of admission
Global Honors students will:
- Demonstrate enhanced skills in research, critical thinking, writing, working cooperatively, and oral communication
- Demonstrate ability to produce collaborative solutions for global challenges
- Demonstrate understanding of global interdependencies in economic, political, social, and cultural systems
- Demonstrate understanding of processes of globalization
- Demonstrate proficiency in researching, synthesizing, and presenting global topics
- Demonstrate understanding and appreciation of interdisciplinary perspectives

Students who complete the application will be notified of their acceptance decision via email.
- Papers and projects in Global Honors core seminars, maintaining a 3.3 overall grade point average
- Completion of a capstone thesis, study abroad, or internship under the supervision of a faculty advisor, earning a 3.3 minimum grade
- Presentation at the Annual Global Engagement Conference
