Study Abroad Award Application

IIGE Study Abroad Awards are open to all eligible students regardless of race, sex or other identity.

To be eligible to apply for a 2027 IIGE Study Abroad Award, you must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Be a current UW Tacoma undergraduate student who has applied or plans to apply to a study abroad program or internship through UW Tacoma Study Abroad, UW Seattle Study Abroad, or UW Bothell Study Abroad.
2. Plan to participate in a study abraod program or internship that is at least three weeks in length outside of the United States, and is a minimum of 5 credits.
3. Expect to graduate in Spring Quarter 2028 or later.

Award amount: $1000

Application Deadline: Applications are due by Sunday, April 4, 2027.

Awards are contingent upon funding.  We anticipate communicating award decisions by early May 2027.

Note:  The 2027 IIGE Study Abroad Award Application will open on October 23, 2026.
