
UW Tacoma named best value in the state by Washington Monthly
The University of Washington Tacoma was recognized as providing a strong return on investment for its graduates in Washington Monthly’s 2025 College Guide and Rankings.
The Monthly publishes its “best-of” lists annually, focusing its methodology on access, affordability, community service and social mobility outcomes.
UW Tacoma was ranked as the top institution in Washington in three of the publication’s latest lists, highlighting its commitment to expanding access to world-class education and preparing graduates for successful careers.

UW Tacoma’s ranking also makes it the leading institution in the Pacific Northwest among master’s schools, a category that includes institutions awarding many master’s degrees but few doctoral degrees.
