Introduction
The Advanced Nursing Practicum courses (TNURS503 and TNURS 505) are essential parts of the MN program. The course gives students a chance to put the ideas they've studied during the program to use in the community, the healthcare system, or an academic environment. The practicum aims to prepare students for positions that demand graduate-level education.
Students work with the Clinical Placement Manager to determine a practicum placement that aligns with the student's professional goals and interests.
Practicum Expectations
The Master of Nursing students are nurses who are interested in furthering their career outside of direct patient care. Practicum occurs in autumn quarter and winter quarter. The practicum runs for a duration of ten weeks each quarter; September – December and January - March. Students are expected to complete 90 hours (9 hours/week) of practicum each quarter.
