An honors designation demonstrates that a student has achieved a high level of expertise in economic theory and quantitative methods, such as would be expected for someone wishing to pursue graduate studies in economics. To earn Honors, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and supplement the major requirements with the following three courses (with an average GPA of at least 3.0 for the three):

- TBECON 421: Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory
- TBECON 422: Econometrics or TMATH 410: Regression Analysis with Applications

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 45 lower-division credits is required before declaring the major. To declare the Economic and Policy Analysis major, students should reach out to the major advisor.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
For a BA in Economic and Policy Analysis, students must complete 65 major credits, as well as the UWT general education and graduation requirements totaling a minimum of 180 credits.
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
- Internships are a great way to gain hands-on experience, build your resume, and strengthen ties to local organizations and communities. 5 credits of approved internships can count towards the major’s upper division elective requirement. Contact Anna Lovász to learn more: plovi@uw.edu.
- The Washington State Legislative Intern Program provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the legislative process while gaining professional work experience during the annual legislative session. Students accepted to this program enroll in TPOLS 497 Political Internship in State Government, a graded course that meets the EPA major’s capstone requirement.
