Center for Financial Wellness serves our diverse student body by providing them with an opportunity to gain a solid understanding of what it means to manage money personally and professionally. We seek to equip our students with relevant financial skills and concepts necessary for them to attain upward mobility, save money, create wealth and assist them with managing their wealth as they accumulate it.
Furthermore, we seek opportunities to partner with our community to further Milgard School of Business mission of “community engagement while promoting social responsibility.”

What is it?
An instructional series which is a combination of self-education through top quality articles, instruction about The Basics, Research and Strategy and the steps for Successful Investing taught by a 30+ year experienced financial advisor, and by investing in stocks, exchange traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds and bonds utilizing a state-of-the-art investment platform which results in a Stock Market Simulation.

Kirk has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Since 2017, Kirk has distinguished himself as a financial advisor for Edward Jones. Dedicated to service on behalf of others in his professional and personal life, he has earned distinction as a client-oriented advisor, specializing in wealth management, estate planning, and retirement planning. He also provides coaching and guidance to fellow financial advisors as a way to give back to his company and his professional community.

FINANCIAL WELLNESS & MARKETS LAB
The Financial Wellness & Markets Lab, and the Center for Financial Wellness is equipped with a stock ticker showing real time financial data, a world clock, and several Bloomberg Terminals. Bloomberg is the world’s leading platform for global business and finance news, data, analytical tools and research. Students gain hands-on experience on being able to monitor and manage real-time financial data.
CFW EVENTS
Center for Financial Wellness hosts a variety of events including Lunch and Learn Financial Wellness Sessions and Informative Panel Discussions every quarter. These events address a range of financial topics including budgeting, loans, debt, fraud, investing, savings, credit, and more. These events feature area professionals and financial experts and are open for all UWT students, faculty, staff, community members and majors were welcomed to attend!
