About Us
Student Transitions and Success brings together programs and services that center students’ journeys to and through UW Tacoma. Our programs serve as Student Affairs partners for college access, persistence, and post-graduation success. Career Development, New Student and Family Programs, and First-Generation Student Initiatives work together to develop and deliver systemic innovations that remove barriers, engage students as partners to create an inclusive campus community and equip them for lives and careers that have meaning and impact.
The Team
Amanda Figueroa | Senior Director
Amanda earned a BS & MS from UW, and has been building innovative programs and partnerships in higher education for over 10 years. She provides leadership for Student Transitions and Success and serves on the Student Affairs Executive Leadership Team.
Jesse Cooley | Program Support Supervisor
Class of 2013, Jesse supervises Student Transitions front desk & event logistics for STS programs. His focus is improving customer service while streamlining services. He manages the web pages for STS and he’s closing in on 20 years military service.
