Meet with a Career Coach
If you want to explore careers, develop internship & job search strategies, practice mock interviews, review application materials (including resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn or Handshake profiles), or take a career assessment, make an appointment with a Career Coach through Handshake!
To schedule an appointment:
- Log into Handshake
- Select "Career Center" in the header bar at the top of the page
- Choose "Schedule Appointment"
- Choose ”Career Development Office Appointments” to see the appointment options available.
Below are the different types of appointments that are available.
Appointment topics may include:
- Career or academic major Exploration
- Tailoring your resume or cover letter to a specific job or internship.
- Linked In and Handshake profiles
- Job or Internship search strategies
- Interview preparation (not a mock interview; that requires a separate appointment)
- Applying to graduate school
To schedule a mock interview, you must first meet with a Career Coach for an Interview Prep session.
Mock interviews are an effective way to practice your interviewing skills and receive feedback from a Career Coach. They are most effective when targeted to a specific job, internship, scholarship, or grad school.
When scheduling, please include the position title or a link to the job posting you would like to do a mock interview for.
Federal resumes are very different from the standard resume format you are familiar with. For help getting started or to have your federal resume critiqued, schedule an appointment. If you are applying for positions through USAjobs, a federal resume is what you need!
Interested in taking a career assessment or just learning more about assessment options? Schedule a Career Coaching appointment to figure out which option is best for you.
You can also schedule an appointment with us for after you have taken an assessment. You can meet with a Career Coach to go over your assessment results and to make a plan for how to use what you have learned. Check out assessments available here.
