RISE Scholars Cohort
The RISE (Race, Identity, and Social Engagement) Scholars program is a year-long learning experience designed for first-year first time in college students who identify as persons of color. You get to be a part of a cohort of up to twenty-five other students who will be together over the course of your first year in college. Our cohort program provides an opportunity for students to learn about race and other social identities as well as to build community and socially engage. This cohort experience is designed to identify and overcome unforeseen barriers in adjusting to college and social life. You will be exploring identities of self, building your community networks and gaining personal wellness skills.

The cohort will be instructed by Nedralani Logotala (mailon@uw.edu). Nedralani is a UWT Alum class of 2017 and is passionate about supporting underrepresented students in finding their voice and speaking their truths in her role as the Student Retention and Community Development Specialist.
As a RISE Scholar, you will have access to
- Multiple fun activities and outings with other RISE Scholars throughout the year
- Workshops and professional development opportunities
- A small book scholarship
-
The RISE alumni network
RISE is a great program that will not only help make your first year at UWT a memorable one, but also open doors to other opportunities that will enrich your university experience for years to come. Many of our students go on to be campus leaders and participate in other CEI and community programs.
