The Director of Legal Pathways is available to assist you in writing your personal statements, getting your legal resume up to date, and planning an overall approach to your law school applications. Our Workshop Series has not started up again since COVID, but check back for more information in the coming year. In the meantime, the Director of Legal Pathways is available for one-on-one meetings to discuss all the issues outlined below.
Applying to Law School 101
Covering application timelines, the application process itself, and the most common question that come up about law school (including cost, admissions statistics, and how the process actually works) this is a great session for anyone considering applying. We highly encourage all students considering applying to attend and then follow up with an individual advising appointment with Legal Pathways.
Tell Your Story: Writing Your Personal Statement
The most important piece of writing in your application will no doubt be your personal statement. This session covers personal statement best practices, common pitfalls to avoid, and how to begin thinking through your personal statement topic and structure.
Paying for Law School I: Federal Financial Aid and Internal Scholarships
Paying for law school can be a challenge. In this workshop, we explore the cost of law school, the federal financial aid process, and scholarships offered by law schools.
Paying for Law School II: External Awards and Fellowships
In Part II of our Paying for Law School series, Cindy Schaarschmidt, Director of Student Fellowships, explores the process of applying for fellowships and grants, as well as post-graduate fellowships.
Ask Me Anything: Law School Admissions
Every quarter we host a variety of “Ask Me Anything” sessions with admissions officers from PNW law schools. These informal sessions are a great way to learn about the schools and talk directly with the admissions office about the process!
