Welcome to the School of Nursing & Healthcare at the University of Washington Tacoma!
Since launching one of the University of Washington Tacoma’s first undergraduate degree programs in 1992, the School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership (SNHCL) has earned a strong reputation for academic excellence, community-engaged learning, and innovative research and scholarship. Today, we offer a dynamic portfolio of programs, including the RN-to-BSN, the Master of Nursing (MN), and the Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Leadership (BAHCL). As part of the UW Tri-Campus School of Nursing, our RN-BSN and MN programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, reflecting our commitment to high-quality, rigorous education that prepares graduates for impactful careers in nursing and health leadership.
Rooted in UW Tacoma’s mission as an urban-serving university, our work is guided by a deep commitment to social justice and the values of curiosity, compassion, respect, integrity, and humility—all in service to our communities. We foster inclusive learning environments where students grow as critical thinkers and emerging leaders, equipped to address complex health challenges at local, national, and global levels. Whether you are a prospective student, partner, or community member, I invite you to explore our programs, connect with our faculty and staff, and engage with our vibrant community. As Dean, it is an honor to work alongside a dedicated team committed to supporting student success and advancing equitable health and well-being for all.
Sincerely,
