The Biomedical Sciences major admits new students once per year in Autumn quarter only.
The application for Autumn 2024 is now open. The priority deadline is March 15th, 2024. However, applications will be accepted until July 1st, 2024. The application review process will start in Spring 2024. Applying by the priority deadline will ensure your application is processed prior to Autumn registration.
All applicants, including current UW Tacoma students, must submit the Biomedical Sciences Application in order to be admitted to the major.
If you are a transfer student, applying to Biomedical Sciences requires two steps: 1. Applying to UW Tacoma (Apply to UWT) and 2. Applying to Biomedical Sciences using this supplemental application. If you have not yet applied to UW Tacoma, please do so before submitting this application form.
On this application, you must provide the following:
- Personal information
- Status of preparatory courses (completed, in progress, or planned)
- Unofficial transcript/s (if transferring to UWT)
- Answers to series of short-answer questions
Minimum admission requirements:
- Must be admitted to UW Tacoma
- Completion of at least 45 college quarter credits
- Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- English Composition (the equivalent of TCORE 101/English 101) with a grade of 2.0 or higher
- MATH 98- Intermediate Algebra or equivalent or higher-level math with a grade of 2.0 or higher
- Submission of online Biomedical Sciences Application
