Changes to UCAR and Motor Pool programs coming March 1
As of March 1, 2024, UW Fleet Services's short-term vehicle rental service, UCAR, will no longer be available on the UW Tacoma campus.
UW Tacoma Transportation Services will provide Motor Pool car rental requests to fulfill campus vehicle needs while exploring options for a local, long-term replacement for the UCAR program.
Students, faculty and staff in need of a vehicle for official University use should complete the Motor Pool Request Form a minimum of 5 business days prior to when the vehicle is needed. Once reserved, vehicles may be picked up and dropped off at the Downtown Tacoma Enterprise Rental Car Lot at 940 Market Street, about half a mile from campus.
For more details, please visit the Motor Pool Request page. Questions should be directed to Transportation Services at 253-692-4984 or transit@uw.edu.
