UW Tacoma’s Office of Government Relations collaborates closely with the UW Office of Federal Relations to advance a range of policy and funding initiatives and issues at the federal level.
We engage with the Washington state congressional delegation, working with staff in their offices in both our state and Washington, D.C. We also consult on federal grant requests for agencies.

Planning a Visit to Washington, D.C.?
If you are visiting Washington, D.C., we can arrange for visits with key leaders on issues of interest, which can include making contacts to set up a schedule of visits. Federal Relations can staff your visits to congressional and agency offices, helping you navigate travel and protocol.
Advocacy and Lobbying
UW employees can and do engage in federal advocacy and lobbying activities on behalf of the University. The UW Office of Federal Relations is required by law to report to Congress quarterly on all federal lobbying contacts and lobbying activities conducted on behalf of the University. Before engaging in any federal lobbying efforts, please review the federal lobbying disclosure guidelines.
