Summer office hours
Last year, we experimented with reduced office hours during summer quarter. By all reports, it was a success. We were able to offer flexibility and balance for UW Tacoma staff while maintaining a high degree of access for our students and community. We have decided to continue this policy for Summer Quarter 2024 and wanted to give offices time to plan for this.
From June 17 – Sept. 1, 2024, offices must be open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Thursday and 9 a.m. – noon on Fridays. Campus offices have the option to be closed to the public after noon on Fridays, allowing additional opportunities for flexible schedules and vacation time off. More details and guidelines can be found on our HR website.
Please note that full-time employees are still expected to work a full 40-hour week. You may work remotely, work additional hours on other days or take vacation leave on Friday afternoons. Please talk with your supervisor to determine what makes the most sense for your position.
We will continue to assess the viability of this practice for future years. If you have questions or feedback, please contact Joe Lawless or Abby Zorn.
