Remembering Frank Bissen
It is with deep sadness that I share the news that our colleague, Frank Bissen, passed away last Tuesday, April 8, after battling lung cancer. Frank was at home and surrounded by his family. He is survived by Jeni, his wife; sons, Sam and Brandon; daughter-in-law, Hilary; and grandchildren, Bella and Julius.
Frank joined the University of Washington Tacoma community in August 2011 as a maintenance mechanic. He was a valued member of our Facilities Services team — known for his kindness, willingness to help, and steady presence — and made a lasting impact on those who worked with him.
Frank’s wife, Jeni, has shared her heartfelt gratitude for the support Frank received from the campus community in recent years. Details about his memorial service will be shared at a later date.
