Located on the second floor of the University Y, the Game Room is a space for students to relax and socialize with others over a game of pool, ping-pong, air hockey or a video game. Additionally, the three televisions in the Game Room are connected to cable channels and are open for watching your favorite show! So the next time that you have a break in between classes or need to rest after your game on the University Y court - come enjoy the University Y Game Room!

Some of the games available in the Game Room include:

  • XBOX Series S with Game Pass Ultimate subscription

  • Nintendo Switch

Video game consoles and table games equipment (paddles, pool sticks, etc.) must be checked out from the front desk of the Center for Student Involvement in room 107 on the first floor. Our staff will happily assist you with setting up whichever equipment you need.

*: A Playstation 5 is available in the UWY 103 Conference Room with a space booking. If a meeting booking conflicts with a desired playtime, staff can connect the PS5 to a monitor in the Center for Student Involvement office. Inquire at the front desk for more details.

Video Games

To check-out time on a console, UW Tacoma students should bring their student ID to the front desk in the Center for Student Involvement in UWY 107. Student staff will provide controllers and a requested game disc, if the title is not in our digital library, and will unlock the console's password protection. The student who checks out the equipment is responsible for all equipment while it is in their possession, including the cost of replacement in the case of breakage or loss.

The video game consoles are available for up to two hours' use during the Center for Student Involvement's business hours. Summer hours (2025) are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 am. - 12 p.m. on Friday.

Please note that the video game consoles are open to UW Tacoma students only. Students may invite non-students to play as guests, but the students will be the listed responsible party for the system while it is checked out.
