Application Steps

  1. Log in using the email and password you created when you completed the UW Tacoma University application.
  2. BABA Application Essay: Your personal statement is an important part of your application for admission. It is an opportunity to discuss aspects of your life that may not be apparent from information provided on your application. It should be no more than 650 words. Here are some options for topics to use in combination or alone:
    1. Career goals and how a business degree from Milgard will help you obtain them
    2. Challenges you have experienced in meeting your goals and what you learned through the process
    3. Academic history (e.g. Do you feel that your grades accurately reflect your ability? If not, why?)
    4. Cultural experiences (e.g. How will you enrich the diversity of the Milgard School and UW Tacoma?)
    5. Professional experiences influencing your interest in a business major
    6. Social and or economic disadvantages
    7. Leadership (Describe 1-2 experiences that demonstrate leadership or initiative in a group or organization; examples may be from employment, community service, student organizations, or similar.)
  3. Transcripts: Running Start students will need to upload an unofficial copy of their community college transcript into the application portal. Students who completed prerequisites outside of the University of Washington (Tacoma, Seattle, or Bothell) will need to upload an unofficial copy of their transcript showing prerequisite completion.
