BA in Business Administration
The Milgard School’s standard admission process is how most students enter the BABA degree program. After meeting admission criteria, current UWT and transfer students apply to the Milgard School of Business.
Direct Admission (Freshman)
The Direct Admission program provides the opportunity for exceptional freshman applicants (high school seniors) with a strong interest in studying business to be admitted directly from high school into the Milgard School of Business.
Minor in Business Administration
The minor in Business Administration is for in any non-business major to increase their understanding of business theory, practices, and applications within a wider economic and social context.
Minor in Business Data Analytics
The interdisciplinary minor in Business Data Analytics (BDA) teaches students to use technology to utilize, interpret, and analyze data. Emphasis is placed on appropriate use of data to solve problems across different industries.
Minor in Corporate Responsibility
The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Minor gives students a firm understanding of why good businesses operate in a way that builds value for all stakeholders, and how to best accomplish this in a strategic way.
Minor in Sports Enterprise Management
The minor in Sports Enterprise Management (SEM) offers students a unique opportunity to learn the business side of the for-profit and not-for-profit sports industry.
UW Tacoma's Business Administration program was established in 1994 and renamed the Milgard School of Business in 2003 in recognition of a generous endowment of $15 million from Gary E. Milgard, the Gary E. Milgard Family Foundation and James A. Milgard.

Essentials of Management
The EMP is designed for experienced managers seeking a stronger foundation in current business theory and practice, or managers who have experience in one area and desire exposure to other areas to qualify for positions of increased responsibility.
Foundations of Data Analytics
Data analytics is an emerging inter-disciplinary area which has a fast-growing job market. Foundations is 100% Online Instruction; 3-hour courses delivered live on weekends and weekday evenings. Review the class recording and practice what you’ve learned at your own pace thereafter.
Milgard's Centers
Discover Milgard's renowned Centers, including the Center for Business Analytics, which partners student teams with both local and national companies to tackle real-world data challenges. The Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility hosts an annual international business case competition regarding corporate responsibility. UW Tacoma is one of the only schools in the nation to have a dedicated center for corporate responsibility and sustainability. In 2019, Milgard partnered with the Tacoma Rainer's receiving a generous gift which kindled a Sports Enterprise Management program for students to focus in on areas such as E-Sports and more.
