Campus Safety Enhances Parking Enforcement and Campus Presence
James Sinding, Associate Director, Campus Safety & Transportation Operations
Beginning this fall, you will notice an increased presence of Campus Safety Officers in parking lots and transportation areas. Over the summer, parking enforcement responsibilities transitioned from general staff to trained Campus Safety Officers.
As part of this change, new patrol vehicles equipped with License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology are now in use. These vehicles are integrated with the university’s central parking database, improving enforcement accuracy and efficiency.
This initiative not only streamlines parking operations but also enhances safety across campus. With advanced onboard technology, officers can spend more time in the field, supporting a safer and more connected campus community.
If you have questions about parking policies or need assistance, please contact Campus Safety or visit our website for more information.
Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and welcoming for everyone.
