Through the UWT General Scholarship, privately donated funds support awards for students in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a newly admitted or continuing student attending autumn quarter of the upcoming academic year.
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student working towards completing a degree
- Currently have or been admitted with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
- Have the upcoming academic year FAFSA or WASFA submitted and sent to UW School Code 003798
- Be a Washington state resident
Selection
Scholarship recipients are selected based on comprehensive review of cumulative GPA, demonstrated financial need, and evaluation of submitted essay(s) by a committee of UW Tacoma Staff & Faculty. Additional factors may be considered in alignment with donor intent.
Awards
Scholarship awards typically range from $500 to $2,500 per academic year, depending on annual funding. Funds are distributed across autumn, winter, and spring quarters.
The UWT General Scholarship application is used to apply to all of the following scholarships:

- Eddie Lee and Gladyne Kitchens Endowed Book Scholarship
- Harlan and Linda Patterson Endowed Scholarship
- Ravenswood Foundation Scholarship Award
- University of Washington Tacoma Scholarship for the Blind
- Simmons Endowed Scholarship.

All newly admittedĀ or continuing undergraduate and graduate students who meet the eligibility criteria may apply.
