The award recognizes a scholar “who has made distinguished contributions in the mentoring of undergraduate and Ph.D. students, as well as junior scholars, contributing to the development of a new generation of scholars who focus on social contexts of education.”
A group of nominators wrote: “A former community-college student and first-generation college student, Dr. Endo is now a nationally recognized scholar of immigrant and refugee education who has tirelessly advocated for scholars at all stages of their careers. She is someone who has gone above and beyond to mentor scholars from varied backgrounds.”
