PAVE is a peer support program that connects incoming student veterans with student veterans already on campus to help them navigate college life, identify challenges they face, refer them to appropriate resources on or off-campus, and provide ongoing support. Through peer support from other student veterans on campus, PAVE builds on the camaraderie veterans' experience in the military to create a sense of community and connectedness that contributes to academic and personal success.
This program was developed at the University of Michigan through a grant from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation. It was initially launched at 12 schools and is now on 37 campuses across the United States. The University of Washington Tacoma is part of that group.
PAVE is a collaboration between the University of Michigan, Student Veterans of America, and partner PAVE campuses.
We're recruiting new faces to help us with our growing student veteran population!
As a Peer Advisor, you will assist the inbound military-connected population attending UW Tacoma for the first time by providing outreach and support to help them with their college endeavors. To participate, you must complete at least one quarter on campus. Contact us if you are interested!
