Newly admitted and current UW Tacoma students can schedule an appointment online with their assigned pre-major academic advisor. 

  • Appointments must be scheduled at least one day (24 hours) in advance
  • During peak periods (e.g. registration), we highly encourage scheduling two weeks in advance
  • During peak periods, we encourage attending drop-in advising or reaching out to your advisor via email
  • Appointments are scheduled for 30 or 45 minutes in length and you can use as much of that time as you wish for a productive advising conversation

No Show and Late Arrivals:

If you arrive more than 10 minutes past your scheduled start time or do not attend the meeting at all, you will be marked as a no-show and will need to reschedule your appointment.

We understand that circumstances can change unexpectedly, which is why our policy allows for three unattended appointments without notice. However, a student who has missed three scheduled academic advising appointments has prevented our office from assisting additional students during that time. 

After the 3rd no-show in a row, a student will forfeit their ability to schedule an appointment with their assigned advisor and must instead meet with the Associate Director of University Academic Advising for their next appointment. Upon successfully attending an appointment with the Associate Director, the student may return to meeting with their assigned advisor.
