The presentation of the academic hood to master’s degree candidates is a special moment for the candidate and the faculty of their academic program. Each school at the University of Washington Tacoma holds its own hooding ceremony, allowing more time to recognize each degree candidate. Master’s degree candidates are encouraged to attend both their hooding ceremony and the Commencement ceremony.
