The Integrated Facilities Management team is dedicated to serving UW Tacoma's urban campus in ways that not only focus on the best interests of students, faculty and staff, but also the surrounding community. In maintaining buildings and grounds to a highly held standard, the university can remain focused on the academic mission while benefiting from it's unique location and communal membership at the heart of downtown Tacoma.
Building Maintenance
- Repair of windows, shades and existing glass display cases
- Like-for-like material
- Maintenance of building ventilation, air conditioning and heating systems
- Maintenance of fire protection, security equipment and alarm systems
- Repair and maintenance of water, sewer, drainage and gas utility systems
- Repair and maintenance of plumbing and water systems, water fountains, emergency eyewash/shower stations, etc.
- Repair to standard classroom and open area furnishings (fixed seating, tables, chairs)
- Repair or replacement of floors and floor coverings within product life cycle
- Painting within public areas, including main entrances, public corridors, stairwells and restrooms, and offices and suites within a scheduled rotation
- Foundations and structures, roofs, gutters and ceilings
- Stairways, handrails, ramps
- Doors, door hardware, and building entrances
- Electrical Infrastructure and electrical systems
- Interior & exterior lighting
- Building incorporated laboratory equipment
- Heavy maintenance equipment such as trucks and carts that are University owned
- Exterior masonry repair, cleaning and repair of roofs, gutters and downspouts
- Internal directional campus signage
Grounds Management
- Landscaping
- Repair and maintain irrigation systems
- Integrated pest management
- Maintain UW Tacoma roads, walking paths and sidewalks
- Storm drains
- Inclement weather response
