UW Sustainability Action Plan 2025 Update

With the current Sustainability Action Plan concluding in 2024-25, the University is set to begin the next phase of sustainability efforts with the development of a new plan that will guide us toward our 2050 sustainability objectives. This plan will address the needs of our tri-campus community and involve a range of partners and stakeholders.

We encourage our UW Tacoma community to get involved wherever and whenever you can.

At inaugural statewide HuskyHack competition, students make 24-hour sprint to fix everyday money stress

This November, the inaugural HuskyHack competition was hosted on campus by the Milgard School of Business and Sound Credit Union. Riddhi Bajaj, a UW Tacoma graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics, took home the $15,000 prize for her work to develop CardGenie, a solo project designed to help users better manage credit cards (and their respective rewards) with the help of AI.

IIGE Welcomes Record Enrollment; Students Explore North Star

Students, faculty, and community members packed the GID Lab for the IIGE's Fall Welcome on October 3, 2025. A fun and interactive session with Advisory Board members Tim Strege, Jennifer English, Elizabeth Donkervoort, and Phil Jacobs drew out career experiences and aspirations.
