Bias Incident Reporting
Bias incidents are acts or behaviors motivated by the person's bias against any combination but not limited to identities such as age, ancestry, color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, HIV/AIDS status, military status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status. While these acts do not necessarily rise to the level of a crime, a violation of state law, University policy, or the Student Code of Conduct, a bias act may contribute to creating an unsafe, negative, or unwelcome environment for the impacted person(s); anyone who shares the same social identity as the impacted person(s); and/or, community members of the university

Civil Rights Compliance Office
The Civil Rights Compliance Office (CRC) is responsible for compliance with civil rights laws and University policy. Federal and state laws collectively prohibit discrimination based on protected characteristics, including age, citizenship, disability, national origin or shared ancestry, race, sex, gender, veteran status, and more. We serve the University by making it welcoming to all through education, compassionate response, and fair and timely resolution.

Reporting an Incident in the Field
All field or off-site incidents must be reported immediately (within 24 hours, or as soon as able) to the candidate’s Field Supervisor, the Program Coordinator of Clinical Field Experiences, or the Administrator of the Office of Field Placements and Partnerships. When able, please report using the Field/Off-site Incident form. If time is limited, contact the Administrator of the Office of Field Placements and Partnerships.
Suspended Operations
In the event of severe weather conditions or emergency situations, campus leadership will make a decision no later than 6 a.m. – earlier if possible – whether to suspend operations for the entire day or operate on a delayed schedule. When operations are suspended, classes are not held, administrative offices are closed and events and activities are cancelled.
